The date matters

Most bodies ask for a recent certificate; it's best to order it close to when you need it.

Names differ by state

For example a Certificate of Good Standing or Certificate of Status in Delaware, a Certificate of Status in Florida and a Certificate of Fact (Status) in Texas; the purpose is the same.

The company must be in good standing

States issue it only to compliant companies; Delaware, for example, won't issue one while the annual LLC tax is unpaid.

The state issues the apostille

A state document is apostilled by that state's competent authority (generally the Secretary of State); for use in Türkiye a sworn Turkish translation may also be requested.
