Official use abroad

An apostilled certificate is accepted in Apostille Convention countries, including Türkiye, without further consular legalisation.

Transparency

Good to know

Only for up-to-date companies

Companies House only issues the summary statement (formerly good standing) if the company is up to date with its filings; it states the company has existed continuously since incorporation and that no action is being taken to strike it off.

Not the certificate of incorporation

The Companies House company certificate is a current, dated document, different from the Certificate of Incorporation issued at formation.

The FCDO issues the apostille

In the UK the FCDO Legalisation Office issues apostilles; the Companies House document must carry an official's signature (a certified copy) for this.

The date matters

Most bodies ask for a recent certificate; it's best to order it close to when you need it.
